How do I use the Freestyle Libre One?
The Freestyle Libre Sensor is read by using the Freestyle Libre Reader, which can be purchased separately, it works similarly to how a phone or a contactless card can make payments by touching the card/phone to the sensor. In this case, the Freestyle Libre Reader is placed against the Freestyle Libre One Sensor to take the reading. The Sensor can take a reading through clothing and is updated every 15 minutes.

How do I apply Freestyle Libre Sensor?
The Freestyle Libre Sensor is applied to the back of the arm by using the applicator which is included upon purchase, the designated area of application must be clean and be free of oil, moisture or hair which can make the sensor harder to apply.
If you are struggling to apply your Freestyle Libre One, then follow these steps:
- Open the packaging, and set down the contents of the box.
- Unscrew the cap, and set it aside.
- Line up the dark-coloured markings on the sensor, and the applicator, then press down on the applicator until it stops.
- Then take the applicator, and place it over the back of your arm, and push down with force to apply the sensor to the skin.
- Once the sensor is pressed against the skin, take care of pulling the applicator away from the area, and the sensor should stay attached to the skin.
- Take the cap which was previously set aside, and place it back on the applicator.

Can I exercise or play sports when using the Freestyle Libre Sensor?
Contact sports should ideally be avoided when using the Freestyle Libre Sensor, and ensure that during exercise the sensor is not knocked or nudged, as this could potentially knock the sensor off of the arm.
Can I wear or take my sensor when travelling by plane?
If you are travelling by plane it is recommended that you contact the airline you will be flying with and inform them that you have diabetes, and will need to carry the necessary medication and apparatus with you on your flight.
It is important to make this known with your airline, as they may have certain policies regarding this, which will have to be managed when passing through airport security.
However, if you receive the correct documentation to best describe your condition, and information about the Freestyle Libre One Sensor, you should be able to take the sensor with you on your flight.
Can I wear tight clothing when using the Freestyle Libre One Sensor?
No, the sensor will not work when wearing restrictive clothing, so be sure to wear clothing that doesn’t affect the sensor. Take care when getting dressed as the sensor could get caught, or be knocked off.

Can I bathe or shower when using the Freestyle Libre One Sensor?
It is perfectly acceptable to shower and bathe when using the Freestyle Libre One Sensor, the sensor is designed to be waterproof and is effective in this. The Freestyle Sensor is waterproof up to 1 metre (3ft) of water and kept in water for up to 30 minutes.
So for showers, it is perfectly viable, but take care not to bathe for prolonged periods of time. Although, it must be noted that you should take care when towelling as the sensor could be knocked off if care is not taken.
How do I remove the Freestyle Libre Sensor?
The Freestyle Libre Sensor can be removed easily with just a slow peel, if you are experiencing difficulty removing the sensor, it is recommended that you use some form of lubrication, such as baby oil or soap and warm water.
